Transgender Follies

I read something about this last week, and then stumbled across a different article today. There is a woman who "became" a man and then got married. Even though she/he had a sex change operation, she retained her female parts. Since her/his wife couldn't have children, this person decided to carry a baby so that the couple could have a family.

Now the media is going on about how there is a man who is pregnant and the (wo)man is complaining because the obstetric staff are referring to "him" as a "her." What a messed up world we live in, but I bet it will just get worse.

Transsexuals and Intersex....
Let us understand those who have medical issues…

Every ten minutes a child is born, 1/2500, in which the doctor cannot determine the sex, or gender. This is not talking about homosexuality, but tragically a congenital condition of birth which can be caused by endocrine agents and chemicals. These children are Intersex; they are born into a life of not male or female. Likewise in similar fashion the Transsexual is identified with a Bioneurological congenital condition, and they too are locked into something not quite so clearly defined as male, or female. The best we can do is live as close to what we seem to believe we are. That may preclude the wants, and often ignorant and bigoted beliefs of others. In what case do we ignore this issue and abandon the children who now cannot hide? How can anyone continue in hate and prejudice so as to deny simple equality and justice? It is either time for change and understanding, or simply wheedle out the Transgender element as inhuman and adopt the final solution as Hitler visualized? Not an easy thing to resolve, but one that is present and will not go away. I can appreciate other’s opinions, and the freedom to express same, but I would hope all would be with regard to the children, teens, and emerging adults, and all who are not so fortunate to have been born by someone’s idea of “normal.” Yet as a Conservative, Christian, Parent, and “Transsexual”, law should be equal for everyone, or it is not fit for anyone, yet, equality and recognition are still a dream for many.

Do you start talking about Hitler and "the final solution" every time someone says something that you disagree with? Violating Godwin's law in the very first comment is not the way to encourage rational discussion.

There are those who would that we be eradicated, and in their hate seek us out. I face it every day, and even under the law am regarded with less equality and rights than others are afforded. It is not with frivolous thought or perspective, rather by careful understanding of the actions and knowledge of those who hate those who are like my kind. I could continue in stating the Pan-Aryan movement within the GLBt and political circles, or the corresponding manipulation of religious groups, but did not.

The blog stated how "What a messed up the world we live in, but I bet it will get worse." Yes, I agree, and it is the mess I have to face as a matter of survival. It smothers me in simple things like employment, medical access and care, and even how I am treated in the most mundane social interaction. I do expect it to get worse, and there is plenty of evidence that my violation of the godwin's ethic has merit and validity.

Regardless, my apology is extended to you and the readers.
